Master Montaro Books Ticket To Hong Kong

The three-year-old son of was purchased for $1.5 million following his debut win for at Pakenham in March.

Unfortunately for his new connections Master Montaro did not receive a high enough rating in that victory to go straight to Hong Kong, but Friday’s three-length win at Geelong against older horses will be enough for the gelding to race in Hong Kong.

Now in the hands of the stable of David and and Tom Dabernig, Master Montaro will race for David Hayes when the trainer makes to Hong Kong next month.

JD Hayes said Master Montaro would be spelled before being sent to Hong Kong.

“The race set up well for him with a really hot tempo up in front and it was good to see him close out and have quite a polished win,” Hayes told racing.com.

“He was well-placed today and after this he’s going straight home, out of work into a nice paddock to get ready to be shipped off to Hong Kong.”
