The Hong Kong Sprint is one of the four Hong Kong International Races held at Sha Tin Racecourse in the middle of December each year. It also sits as the final leg of nine in the Global Sprint Challenge, which includes races in countries such as England, UAE and Australia.
The Hong Kong Sprint originally started as the richest 1000 metre race in the world until the distance was boosted up to 1200 metres in 2006. Nowadays it sits as one of the highest regarded 1200 metre races in the world and attracts contenders from around the globe.
