Premier Brisbane trainer is still undecided on the target for Outback Barbie after her impressive barrier trial at Doomben.

Outback Barbie ran in a 1000m-heat on Tuesday against several Magic Millions contenders and turned in one of the best efforts of the morning finishing a nose second to stablemate Vega One.

She was sixth on the fence before working into the trial in the straight and going to the line locked with Vega One.

Outback Barbie was the star of the early Brisbane summer, winning the Listed Keith Noud and finishing a nose second to Chapter And Verse in the Group Three .

She was never a winning chance at her most recent start when eighth in at , a track where she has not run a place in four starts.

The overall trial time was 58.37 seconds, the fastest 1000m of the morning.

Gollan was most impressed with the final 600m sectional, a leader-timed 34.59 which meant his horses broke 34 seconds.

“I was happy with them both and it is now on to the Magic Millions,” Gollan said.

“I am still undecided on which race for Outback Barbie. I will probably accept in both the fillies and mares race and the QTIS race and then examine the fields before making a final decision.”

The rich Magic Millions day is at the Gold Coast on January 11.

Outback Barbie has a good Gold Coast record, finishing third in both the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and the Magic Millions Guineas in the past two years.

Vega One earned a wild card entry to the with his win in The Gateway on December 14.

Another impressive trial winner was Melbourne trainer Mike Moroney's Star Surprise who is headed to the Magic Millions Guineas.

At the Gold Coast, multiple stakes-winning sprinter was the most impressive of the trial winners.

The 2017 Group Two Villiers winner finished strongly from last early and is on course for the Magic Millions Cup (1400m).

Trainer watched the trial before heading to the airport to fly to New Zealand where he has in the Group One Stakes at Ellerslie on Wednesday.

“He was good first-up when fifth in the George Moore Stakes at his first run in a year,” Edmonds said.

“The trial will top him off nicely for the Millions. We are looking to a couple of big weeks hopefully starting with Winter Bride.”
