Champagne Dreams has broken through in a class field for her first Stakes victory in the Listed Redelva Stakes (1100m) at Morphettville.
Trained from Strathalbyn by Wayne Francis & Glen Kent, the three-year-old daughter of Reward For Effort was coming off a close second at Moonee Valley where she was run down to be beaten by a nostril by Hellfest in the Group 3 Typhoon Tracey (1200m) on February 25.
Starting at $10 odds with online bookmakers, jockey Jake Toeroek took Champagne Dreams straight to the lead after jumping quickly from barrier nine. She proved too good for the rest of them and try as they might, nothing looked like getting past the filly as she romped away to the line.
Manhatten Times and Seradess made up the minor placings, coming in 1.4 and 1.9-lengths from the winner.
A $15,000 purchase by Finnis Lodge Thoroughbreds at the 2020 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale, the filly has now recorded four wins and two placings from 10 starts and earnings in excess of $200,000.
