has claimed the Group 3 over and Lady Of Honour in the last race of the day on Cup Day.

The win gave a treble across Day after and won earlier in the day.

gave this five-year-old gelding a peach of a ride, by going back to the inside and ultimately winning the race by not going around a single horse. Aegon won the final event at a nice price for punters, winning at $7 with online bookmakers, knocking off Bandersnatch in a very tight photo.

Andrew Forsman's assault on the Victorian Spring has continued with three more winners on another feature day on Caulfield Cup Day.

“It got a little bit niggly and he didn't get the right run. I'm sure Blake (Shinn) would have liked to have got to the outside but he had to chop and change ground down to the inferior ground.” Forsman discussed in his post-race interview that the run didn't go to plan but the result is what counted at the end of the day.

“He's just been a very immature horse. Whatever he did as a three-year-old he did on ability and we just had to give him a bit of time and now he's coming back to it and hopefully can go on.

“No plans, no plans. Just wrapt to get this one out of the way and see him back to his best form.” Andrew Forsman said that he had no plans for Aegon further into the Spring, but he was very happy to see him return to form.

After a completely luckless run of outs on Caulfield Cup Day, Blake Shinn eventually got his first win aboard Aegon in the lucky last.

“No it wasn't, those were the cards we got dealt. It was gonna be tricky to get where I needed to get to in the obvious ground.” Shinn echoed the thoughts of Andrew Forsman, by agreeing that going to the inside part of the track wasn't part of their pre-race plans.

“We saved a few lengths and tried to come out in the straight and the horse was brave. He's a quality horse on his day and it's nice to see him return back to his best today.”
