World Pool, the largest globally commingled horse racing pools created and powered by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, is set to shine an international spotlight on the Spring Racing Carnival in Australia with five race days to be open for betting all over the globe.
World Pool punters from almost 30 countries will have the chance to bet into mammoth global pools over the next five weeks, covering meetings in both Sydney and Melbourne during Australia's most prolific month of racing.
There will be five bet types available – Win, Place, Quinella, Quinella Place (Duet) and Tierce (Trifecta) – offering World Pool punters unrivalled choice and value.
The World Pool action down under will begin with Turnbull Stakes Day at Flemington on Saturday October 7.
Featuring the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) among five races on offer, some of Australia's best horses will tackle visitors from Hong Kong and the United Kingdom as the road to the Melbourne Cup Carnival continues.
The focus then shifts from Melbourne to Sydney for the running of the world's richest race on turf, the AUD$20 million (£10.45 million) Everest (1200m), on Saturday October 14. The last nine races on the Randwick programme will be World Pool events, including the first running of the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes (1600m).
Saturday, October 21 sees three races from Caulfield Cup Day combined with the entirety of British Champions Day to create a monster card from both sides of the world.
Moonee Valley is the focus on Saturday October 28, when Australia's best horses go to battle with some strong international rivals in the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m). The card will also feature the Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m), with those two races among nine on offer.
The Melbourne action culminates in the Melbourne Cup Carnival, with the opening day – Victoria Derby Day – operating as a full World Pool event.
One World Pool Moment of the Day winner will be chosen from the five race winners at Flemington this Saturday, with AUD$8,000 on offer for the winning groom. They will also gain entry into the World Pool Moment of the Year competition for the chance to win a trip to Hong Kong next year.
Australia's first World Pool race day, the Black Caviar Lightning meeting at Flemington in February, held over AUD$50 million across nine races.
