Chain Of Lightning is gearing up for an exciting stint, possibly including a bid at Royal Ascot, after a potential sale in May. Co-trainer Peter Moody unveiled plans for the talented sprinter, indicating a likely target at the prestigious Royal Ascot meeting.
“She’s going to the broodmare sales in May and we’ve accepted an invitation to Ascot, so she’ll be sold under that proviso at the Magic Millions broodmare sale,” Moody revealed to Racing.com.
Reflecting on his past success at Royal Ascot with Black Caviar, Moody expressed uncertainty regarding his role in Chain Of Lightning’s campaign, contingent upon her sale and the new ownership.
Bred by Stuart Ramsey and sired by Northern Meteor stallion Fighting Sun, Chain Of Lightning boasts a commendable Group 1 victory alongside several Stakes triumphs, adding substantial value to her pedigree.
Moody hinted at further earnings opportunities for the talented mare, potentially lining her up in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick. “As long as there is a bit of cut in the ground, she’ll go there with Rachel King to ride,” Moody affirmed, while also considering alternative options in Brisbane and Adelaide.
Regarding T.J. Smith third placegetter I Wish I Win, Moody expressed satisfaction with the gelding’s performance and outlined the $1.5m Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1200m) as a prospective target.
Excitement brews around Chain Of Lightning’s future endeavours, with her potential sale paving the way for an intriguing chapter in her racing career.
