Logan Street Lion fended off the late-charge of Mahagoni to a strong win in the Cleanaway Handicap (1800m) at on Saturday for trainer to land the second win of his current campaign.

“He looked the winner until the horse Mahagoni presented. I thought he had us cold. But to our horse's credit I think he lifted when it joined us, and it was a good to the line.

“That's a good quality I feel. He is slowly finding his way and it is a good step forward today.

“For a five-year-old he has taken a long time to find his rhythm at this level and let's hope there are a few more.”
