Stewards opened an into Day's ride on Helsun who ran third in a maiden at on January 16.

Stewards took exception to Day's ride from the 600m to turn and in the straight.

The inquiry was adjourned until Wednesday where Day was charged with failing to take all steps to ensure Helsun finished in the best possible position.

Day pleaded and stewards imposed a ban that was reduced because of his good record.

“I will fight this with the whole way if necessary,” Day said.

“I have ridden for 30 years in three different countries and never been accused of anything like this.”
