Preusker is after a second feature at Morphettville this year after winning the with in March.

I Am Someone had only one runner drawn wider in Wednesday’s 15-horse field and Holland was planning on scouting a wide course.

“When we settled that well I didn’t care where we were and going to the fence, everything opened up,” Holland said.

“It wasn’t the ideal spot, but when you can save that much ground in a race , it’s a huge plus.

“My plan was to be either three wide, or four wide, with cover, but the horse settled much better than I thought and I was happy to go to the inside and save ground.

“It won us the race in the end.”

Holland partnered Surprise Baby to Adelaide Cup success and is looking forward to again heading to Morphettville to partner I Am Someone in .

“He’s a good horse and in a good stable and we’ve had a bit of success together,” Holland said.

I Am Someone scored by a length from with This Kid Rocks ahalf-neck away in third place.

Wednesday’s victory was I Am Someone’s first at 1200m and Preusker said the gelding had penchant for soft ground.

Preusker said there were signs that I Am Someone was starting to settle in his work and was confident the 1200m wouldn’t pose a problem.

“In the back on my head I thought he’s starting too settle too well and after his last start I’m now playing with a different horse,” Preusker said.

“Hopefully now he can take it up a notch.

“All along he’s probably shown that he’s a better horse on softer going and we’re in at the right time of the year, so we’ll keep poking away.”
