Flit Could Bypass Eagle For Interstate Group 1

The $7.5 million Golden Eagle is just one of the targets being considered for Godolphin mare Flit after her return to the winner’s circle at Randwick.

Bonny mare Flit has given Godolphin food for thought after returning to the winner’s circle in the $500,000 at Randwick.

The 1300m race is timed as a lead up to the $7.5 million Golden Eagle (1500m) at Randwick in three weeks but trainer has stopped short of committing her to a start.

While the race is among Flit’s spring options, a trip to Melbourne for the (1600m) at on the same day is also being considered.

“She has been flying this preparation without winning,” Cummings said.

“We just couldn’t see her running a bad race today and yet she was up against some pretty good opposition.

“She has marched right into contention for a couple of big targets over the next three weeks and it will be up to the boys which way they want to head with her.”
