Expensive Day For Jag Guthmann-Chester

‘s bid to win back-to-back metropolitan Brisbane apprentice titles has hit a snag after he was suspended on a careless riding charge at .

The senior metropolitan title is already clear-cut with on 73 winners and is well on his way to riding 100 for the third year in a row.

The title is wide open with Guthmann-Chester, who won last season, on 25 and one in front of on 24.

(18) and (17) are still in the race with three months to go.

Guthmann-Chester was suspended for eight meetings after causing interference in the fifth race on Thursday.

It was an expensive day for the -based apprentice as he was also fined $200 for being overweight in another race.

To add to his woes he was fined a further $200 for posting material on a social media site, which in the stewards’ opinion was obscene or defamatory towards the Training Department.

Guthmann-Chester can seek an internal review on all decisions.
