“We thought if he'd got a run in the Golden Slipper he would have given it a real shake because he's the right colt, he's going to be top class for us going forward.”

It forced a rejig of Taikomochi's program and opened the door for the frontrunner to take his place at Rosehill.

“We might have to look at our targets after that,” Bott said.
