Toowoomba trainer hopes his decision to try something different with his star performers and Niccanova will pay off in the Listed at Doomben.

Tregea had one of his best seasons in the past year with Prioritise, , and Niccanova all performing well.

Bergerac is undergoing rehabilitation after suffering a serious injury while Prioritise and Niccanova are back for the summer.

Tregea has also retired handy mare Angel Dane after she refused to jump in a race at earlier this month

“It is a pity because she trialled twice recently in very good style but it isn't much use pushing on if she is refusing to jump on race day,” Tregea said.

“I have been a bit quiet of late but I am looking forward to Prioritise and Niccanova this summer.”

Niccanova won the Recognition Stakes last year but had a run under his belt coming into that race.

“This year I decided to be different and just give him a trial,” Tregea said.

Niccanova was second in the at the and second in the before a spell.

Tregea said he had also decided to try something different with Prioritise who has won 10 races but was disappointing towards the end of his last preparation.

“I haven't trialled him this time and kept him .,” Tregea said.

“He wasn't far away in some good races in the winter and he is versatile.

“Prioritise will get out to further trips and there are plenty of races for him this summer even though none of mine are Magic Millions horses as we breed and race our own.”

Prioritise started $151 in his first run back from a spell two weeks ago in the but ran a much better race than that price suggested.

He finished sixth beaten two lengths and is better suited at 1350m.
