Champion Victorian trainer Darren Weir‘s career is in tatters as he looks at a four-year ban for possessing illegal electronic devices known as jiggers.
Weir has spent 11 hours at a show cause hearing conducted by Racing Victoria stewards on Monday and RV said in a statement the trainer would not contest the three charges against him when he fronts the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board.
His assistant, licensed trainer Jarrod McLean, will fight a charge of possessing a similar device and can continue to train until his hearing.
