Phillip Stokes has unveiled plans for the upcoming autumn campaigns of Amade and Daqiansweet Junior, both of whom performed admirably during the spring season.
The trainer revealed that the two horses are gearing up for their respective starts in the coming weeks.
The first of the duo, Amade, is set to take on Moonee Valley‘s Listed Night Cup (2500m) on Friday night as a stepping stone to the Group 2 Adelaide Cup (3200m) at Morphettville next month.
Regarding Daqiansweet Junior, Stokes outlined a three-start campaign starting with the Australian Cup Prelude (1800m) on March 9. The journey will continue with the Listed Roy Higgins Quality (2600m) on March 30, culminating in the primary target of the Group 1 Sydney Cup (3200m) at Randwick on April 13.
“He’ll have a three-run prep, and that will do him,” Stokes explained. “He can then go for a break after the Sydney Cup, and we’ll get him ready for another shot at the Melbourne Cup.”
Stokes expressed satisfaction with the residual fitness both horses carry over from the spring, stating, “Both horses have a lot of residual fitness carrying over from the spring. I’m happy with the way they’ve come up, and I think they are in for good campaigns.”
