In a swift turn of events following his triumph aboard Queman in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) last weekend, jockey Harry Coffey has secured another significant ride.
He’s set to saddle up Benedetta in the upcoming Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) on March 9.
Trainer Jason Warren, based in Mornington, has officially enlisted Coffey to replace the usual rider, Daniel Stackhouse.
Stackhouse will be sidelined due to a suspension, paving the way for Coffey to guide the four-year-old mare in her second-up autumn appearance.
Benedetta, coming off a commendable fourth-place finish behind Queman in the Oakleigh Plate, is poised for another shot at glory under Coffey’s reins.
