Questioned whether Native Soldier will handle the 1600m of the Guineas, Weir said the colt will need to do everything right.

“But it's a pretty good race to be trying it in,” Weir said.

“He's a beautiful horse. To look at him in the mounting yard he's a cracking type and he's got the ability.

“If he could win a Group One race I'm sure there'd be a lot of interest in him.”
