Foxton trainer is making a habit of training multiple winners in a day and that trend continued at on Wednesday where she sent out a winning double.

Bambry has long-held three-year-old gelding in high regard and her judgement was vindicated when the son of closed well to break maiden ranks over 2100m in the manner of a staying horse going places.

“He has always needed ground and his mother was a good stayer and being by Ocean Park, that was always going to be his ,” Bambry said. “It is special to get a win with one that we have bred and Leah (Hemi, ) won on the mother as well.”

Out of the stakes-placed mare Acquisto, Bambry admitted there has been some interest in the horse after he won a trial last month. “He was under offer before his first start and vetted cleanly but the prospective owner pulled out,” Bambry said. “I think he is going to make a lovely stayer and he is probably still six months away and I think he will be at his best next autumn.

“He is a horse that I really rate and now that he has got the monkey off his back, I am sure he will go on with it. “We will look for another race over ground and just look after him.”

Bambry also saddled another lightly-tried son of Ocean Park in Otis, who won his second race when successful over 2100m in Rating 65 company. “He just relished the 2100m and we think he goes pretty well also,” Bambry said. “I think he is an open class horse in the making.”
