The stable looks likely to be well represented in an upcoming Melbourne Cup qualifier after imported stayer Alfarris pressed his claims for Stakes with a hard-fought win at .

The winner of the Listed Andrew Ramsden (2800m) at Flemington on May 25 earns a ballot exemption into this year's Melbourne Cup, and Lindsay Park co-trainer indicated that was the likely next option for five-year-old Alfarris after his first Australian victory on Saturday.

“It's very hard to qualify them through the spring, the races only get tougher and often you've got to wait until they get to their right distance,” he said.

“So while they're up and at their right trip and and well, I think we keep going.”
