Winning Ways was named Horse of the Year for last season which included her win in the Group One Oaks (2400m) in May.

Aquis Farm has confirmed the mare is in and will be served by leading Juddmonte sire Kingman to northern hemisphere time.

“Aquis is happy to confirm Gr.1W Winning Ways has been purchased by Mrs. Loretta Fung, with many thanks to Mrs. Makin for her kind co-operation” Aquis said on Twitter.

Trainer Garry Newham was sad to see her go.

“She is a lovely mare and will be a success no matter what she does,” he said.

Winning Ways won the at in September and had her last Australian run at that track when third in the on December 28.

Winning Ways won eight of her 18 starts and $582,000 prize money.

She was bought as a yearling by the late and his estate raced the mare in her final campaign.

She is one of several top class horses Newham has trained including the multiple Group One winner raced by Makin.

Newham has several other horses for Makin's estate and will continue to train them.

“There are a couple of young horses here and I will continue to train them,” he said.

“When they are finished that will be it for me as well.”
