Veight revving up ahead of racetrack return

Co-trainer is optimistic about the performer ‘s potential impact at the top level during the upcoming autumn season.

The son of Grunt, who finished fifth in the Group 1 Stud Stakes (1200m) in his last outing, is slated to return over the Australia Day weekend, with potential entries in either the Group 3 (1200m) at on Friday or the Group 2 Australia Stakes (1200m) at on Saturday.

“He’s very good, excellent. He’s on track to either run in the Manfred or the Australia Stakes, we’ll just make up our mind when we have a look at both races,” said Tony McEvoy.

“I think 1400 metres (is his best trip for now), the trip that he won the Sires’ at, whilst I don’t think he ran a strong mile in the Guineas, he’ll end up running a mile, he seems to have come back a horse.

If the McEvoy’s wish to take Veight to the , top horse racing bookmakers are taking no chances with the colt, listing him as a $26 chance in 2024 All Star Mile (1600m) betting markets.
