Tulloch Cup Trophy Returns To Eagle Farm

One of the most pieces of history has returned home to for the first time in 57 years.

In 1961 the legendary galloper , carrying 62.5kg, won his final race in the at Eagle Farm when ridden by and trained by .

Tulloch was raced E A Haley whose family has had the Brisbane Cup in their possession ever since but on Saturday they gave it back to the Brisbane Race Club’s Thoroughbred Racing History Association’s museum.

Mr Haley’s grand-daughters Ruth Bevan, Deb Haley and Sue Ridegwell were on hand to give the Cup to history association president Peter Howard.

“It is a fantastic gesture by the family to give this valuable piece of history back to us,” Howard said.
