The Autumn Sun has held on to win the Rosehill Guineas, beating Arrogant by the shortest of margins to take out the first of five Group One races on Golden Slipper Day.
Chapada finished third in the 2000m race which The Autumn Sun’s relieved trainer Chris Waller said really tested the favourite.
“He’s a very good horse. That was a very good test, the last 200 metres. The inside horse was laying all over him, but he just didn’t lie down,” Waller said.
