Tough gelding Tarzan defended his title of King of the sprinters in style but may have to head interstate for his next start.

Tarzan ($4.40) made light of top weight of 59.5 kgs and a heavy track to take his record at the Sunshine Coast over 1000m to nine wins and four seconds from 14 starts.

He sat three deep the whole way but came away to beat stablemate ($5.50) by three lengths in the XXXX Open Handicap (1000m).

Trainer is now scratching his head about where to send Tarzan for his next start.

“He is going to get the grandstand in a Sunday or midweek race at the Sunshine Coast over 1000m at his next start,” Kendrick said.

“I think the Sunshine Coast suits him because it is a big track and he can get balanced after the start. One option is to give him another go at .”

“Maybe he can head to for the Kirby Quality or on a big track. But I will have to think about it.”

Kendrick, who has his sixth Sunshine Coast premiership sewn up this season, has trained 11 winners for June.

He trains Tarzan for a syndicate including Brisbane Racing Club chairman .

“Neville might like to run the (Group One) at the Sunshine Coast over 1000m,” Kendrick joked.

Luke Tarrant, who rode Tarzan, is scheduled to start a month's on Sunday night for betting.

But he is seeking an internal review of the decision arguing someone else had opened an illegal account in his name.
