Sydney Trip Still On For Anderson Pair

Classy Brisbane three-year-olds and are still bound for the Sydney autumn but their departure will be delayed.

Profit and Ballistic Boy were first-up at on Saturday in a 1400m three-year-old handicap won by $41 chance Naval .

Profit ran second beaten half a length while Ballistic Boy was a length back in fourth.

Trainer Chris Anderson said he would not send the pair to Sydney for the Group One in a fortnight.

“But the Guineas and are very much on the radar,” Anderson said.

“I made it clear before Saturday there would be plenty of improvement in my pair. I stand by that but there is no need to rush to Sydney when there is a 1400 metre race at Eagle Farm in a fortnight for them.

“After the Eagle Farm race there is plenty of time to head south and the Brisbane winter is around the corner.”

Anderson said the winner of Saturday’s race Naval Strike was an under-rated horse and he was surprised it started such a big price.

“Some good judges were tipping Naval Strike on his previous two unlucky runs and Profit had to give him six-and-a-half kilos,” he said.

Naval Strike gave apprentice her first metropolitan winner.

“It’s great to win especially for Kempy who has helped me with rides for most of my career,” she said.
