Debut winner will be put to the test in the Chairman's Stakes at in a race which shapes as another pointer towards the Group One .

Trained by , Letzbeglam raced to a comfortable two-length win in an 1100m maiden for two-year-old fillies at on January 21.

That performance and the way the filly has come through it has encouraged her connections to give the filly the chance to earn valuable black-type in Saturday's 1000m Group Three race for two-year-olds at her second start.

Young said Letzbeglam had trialled well before her debut and was able to take that to the races.

“She probably hasn't beaten a fantastic field behind her but she did it well and she wasn't really cranked up so there was good improvement in her,” Young said.

“We just thought we'd roll the dice and see how she goes on Saturday.

“It's going to be a bit tougher against some of the boys.

“Ideas Man is going to be hard to beat but it's nice if she can get a bit of black type before we tip her out and give her a bit of a break.

“I think she'll run a really nice race.”

A strong performance could also earn Letzbeglam a crack at the Group One (1200m) three weeks later at the same track.

Busuttin and Young have colts and scheduled to run in Saturday week's Prelude on a Blue Diamond path, while Letzbeglam also holds a Blue Diamond nomination.

The Chairman's Stakes a number of Blue Diamond hopefuls including stakes winning filly Aryaaf who was the early $2.90 favourite for Saturday's race on Wednesday.

-winning colt Ideas Man is another of the nine juveniles in Saturday's field of 11 who hold Blue Diamond nominations.

“She would have to run one-two to think about that,” Young said.

“That will give us a bit of a guide on her on Saturday and we'll see where we're at with her. If she pulls up fine then we can press on and if not we can go to the paddock.”
