A sharp drop in class and a softer track can help -trained Slydini break a frustrating statistic at Doomben.

Slydini was eighth at his most recent start in the Listed Mumm Stakes (1600m) at Doomben three weeks ago on a hard track.

Apart from that run Slydini has a consistent record at the Doomben 1600m.

But it has been a frustrating one for the Bryan and training partnership with Slydini running four minor placings over the distance at the track from six attempts.

He gets the chance to correct that statistic in Saturday’s Open Handicap (1640m) on Saturday.

Daniel Guy said Slydini was best on tracks which were not rock hard but he could handle good tracks.

“He won first-up on a dry track and last start in Stakes company he was honest,” he said.

“He has won twice and been minor placed five times at 1600 metres so the distance is is no trouble.”

Among his opposition will be who backs up from a win at the last Saturday.

Trainer has been quick to deflect any credit for the gelding’s return to form having only had him in his stable for three weeks before that win.

“To be frank I can’t take much credit for the win because I hadn’t done much with him,” Heathcote said.

“He is obviously a horse with plenty of natural ability so he can back up this Saturday at 1600 metres and then we might look for something a bit longer.”

Ruling Dynasty was originally trained by and won the 2015 Listed Tattersall’s Cup (2400m) at .

He was sold and ended up at the stables of Gold Coast trainer Marcus Wilson before recently going to Heathcote at .

Heathcote will also play a major hand in the Benchmark 85 race with and .

“No Annamossity never runs a bad race and I have decided to claim on him with Boris Thornton to ride,” Heathcote said.

“Ingeegoodbe trialled nicely recently but will probably want something longer than 1350 metres.”
