Prince Of Boom has continued his outstanding Queensland Winter Carnival by thrashing his rivals in the Group 3 W.J. Healy Stakes at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
Throughout his five starts this preparation, the son of Spirit Of Boom has now won three of them, and only finished outside the placings once, which came in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 three starts back.
Prince Of Boom was made to lug the top weight of 60kg, and even though the four-year-old gelding was made to work early to find the front, he put a space between himself and his rival with 300m to go and won by just over two lengths after being eased down in the final 100m.
Robert Heathcote secured the quinella as his only other runner in the race The Big Goodbye ran into second, but never really threatened the winner who was in his own race down the home straight.

With Robert Heathcote elsewhere, Leah Kilner represented the stable for the post-race interview.
“The preparation has been enormous for this horse,” Kilner said.
“We didn’t go the to Stradbroke for the right reasons and on Tim’s advice we came to this race.”
Tim Clark brought up a riding treble on the day with his win on Prince Of Boom, and he spoke post-race about the win.
“He’s got a good cruising speed, this horse. He breaks their hearts a bit during the middle stages,” Clark said.
“He was starting to feel the pinch late with the big weight and probably coming towards the end of a pretty hard prep.
“He was really brave and did a great job. He’s a very talented horse.”
