Positivity to chase Caulfield Cup glory

Trainer has indicated that , off her victory in the Group 3 MRC Foundation Cup (2000m), is likely to contest the  Cup (2400m).

Forsman is now seeking a jockey to ride at the light weight of 50 kilograms.

Initially hesitant to push his Group 2 (2500m) winner too hard this spring, Positivity’s recent performance, where she narrowly defeated , has changed his outlook.

“We are very tempted,” Forsman told Racing.com about Positivity’s chances.

“I suppose when you have 50 kilos in a $5 million race, you have to consider it pretty .

“We brought her into work without being too serious, without any grand plans as a four-year-old mare.

“She’s going a lot better than I thought she might, to be honest.”

Harry Coffey has partnered the mare in her two starts this campaign and will ride her again in this Saturday’s Group 3 (2500m).

While Coffey has ridden at 50 kilograms on eight occasions, he hasn’t done so since his apprentice days in 2011.

“She’s not going to get a penalty, so we’re exploring our options at the moment. In the next week or so, we might try to line up a few people,” Forsman added regarding the search for a Caulfield Cup rider.
