Pinstriped, with odds at +650, has secured a coveted spot in the Group 1 Cox Plate on October 28 with a remarkable victory in Saturday’s Group 2 Feehan Stakes at Moonee Valley.
Trained by Enver Jusufovic, Pinstriped delivered a powerhouse performance under the expert guidance of jockey Ben Allen, who was celebrating a double on the day after earlier piloting Place Of Gold to victory.
Pinstriped faced stiff competition in the late stages of the race as both Attrition (+650) and Tuvalu (+400) launched late charges.
However, Pinstriped maintained his lead, pulling away with 150 metres to go, securing a well-deserved victory.

An elated Enver Jusufovic couldn’t contain his excitement on the track, likening the moment to a scene from the Willy Wonka chocolate factory movie.
He praised Pinstriped’s ability and credited proper management for the horse’s success.
“I feel like I’m on that Willy Wonka chocolate factory movie,” exclaimed Jusufovic.
“This horse has always had the ability, I just had to manage him properly… He’s just a horse with plenty of talent.”
Ben Allen, who formed a strong bond with Pinstriped, expressed his desire to continue riding the talented gelding as they move toward the Cox Plate, which will now serve as their grand final on October 28.
“I just clicked with him (Pinstriped),” said Allen.
“The horse has matured as well… I’ve been able to keep the seat… I think he’s got a grand final now.”
