Talented New Zealand sprinting filly Melt is to be tested in Australia and will join Sydney’s premier trainer Chris Waller at Rosehill.
The three-year-old is having a short break after her spring campaign which netted two wins including the Group Three Breeders’ Stakes (1200m) for trainer Nigel Tiley.
“She is still down in Christchurch having a bit of a spell and she’s heading to Chris Waller’s on Friday, this week,” Nigel Tiley told NZ Racinf Desk.
“If she managed to get a bit of black-type over there that’s fantastic for her future as a broodmare, but if she doesn’t come up she can always come back and we’ll find another path for her.”
Melt has won four of her eight starts and finished second to Avantage in the Group One Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) as a two-year-old.
More recently she was unplaced in the 1000 Guineas at Riccarton won by Media Sensation last Saturday week.
