The Roger Varian– trained My Ambivalent has been given approval by Racing Victoria‘s veterinarians to line-up in next Tuesday‘s Melbourne Cup after concerns had arisen that she may have been injured.
My Ambivalent was forced out of the Group One Caulfield Cup earlier this month due to a stone bruise and it was thought that she may have suffered a reoccurrence of the injury.
The English mare appeared lame on Friday but it is now thought that she may have just rapped a joint during her workout as she was sound within 15 minutes of returning to the quarantine compound.
Dr Brian Stewart and Dr Grace Forbes, Racing Victoria‘s veterinarians, are satisfied with her physical condition and gave her the all clear yesterday (Tuesday) morning. She will undergo another routine vet-check on Thursday.
My Ambivalent is currently rated a $41 chance with Sportingbet to take out the 2014 Melbourne Cup.
