Humma Humma finished runner-up in the Listed Cinderella Stakes in in March on debut and Mott was delighted to see the filly return from a spell and do what he was she was capable of at Sandown.

Humma Humma ($7) settled off the speed but finished strongly to draw away from first starter ($6) to win by a length with well-backed debutante Appian Way ($1.90) another 2-1/2-lengths away third.

“I got a lot of satisfaction out of that one. She’s a filly I’ve had a lot of time for,” Mott said.

“She went to Adelaide for a Listed race last preparation and even though she was beaten it was a really nice run and she’s really come on from that.

“It’s hard to say what level she can get to but she’s definitely Saturday grade for sure at the moment and hopefully she can progress from there.”

McArdle believes Humma Humma still has a bit to learn but when she does will develop into a nice filly.

“Obviously a couple of big stables had raps on their first starters there so it was nice to see her get the job done,” he said.
