Nakao was recently granted a dual licence and has several horses in work at the training complex.

She has entered for a Class One event at Doomben on Thursday.

Nakao, who emigrated from a decade ago, was apprenticed to trainer at Deagon and rode 51 winners.

Before that she had stints with Trevor Sutherland, Bernie Howlett and in NSW and the ACT.

“If hard work equals success then Miki will have a very good career as a trainer,” Duff said.

“She is a very good horsewoman and really cares for her team.”

Nakao is the second woman to be granted a dual licence in Brisbane with the other.

Nakao's most recent win was aboard Gambit at Nanango in September.
