She did not have her first start until 2015 and was one of several horses trainers John Symons and brought with them from when they moved to Queensland.

The mare has won five races in Queensland including her first in metropolitan class at the two weeks ago.

“She will be going to the next year and we obviously want to get black-type for her,” Symons said.

“She deserves her chance in this class.”

Mewstone Rock's chances improved when Sydney trained scratched likely favourite Improvement because of her wide barrier and big weight.
