Ryan Maloney has secured the coveted ride on star mare Bella Nipotina for Saturday's Group 1 Tattersall's Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm.

Bella Nipotina, a $10 million earner, has had just three jockeys since March last year: Ben Melham, John Allen, and her regular rider Craig Williams.

Maloney will now join this elite group as Williams is unavailable due to his humanitarian mission in Ukraine.

Trainer Ciaron Maher, who recently teamed up with Maloney to win the Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2200m) with the 100-1 outsider Socks Nation, expressed his confidence in Maloney.

“We've had a long association with Ryan and he's riding in great form, there is no one better up there,” Maher told Racing.com.

Maher is hopeful of adding another Group 1 victory to his resume in the fillies and mares feature, which marks the final Group 1 race of the season.
