While the eyes of Australian racing were on the debut of champion Winx's half-sister in Sydney, Brisbane had its own blue blood runner in winner .

Winx's sister Convent Garden was bogged down on the heavy track to finish sixth but Tracy May had no such worries at Doomben on Wednesday.

Tracy May ($1.35) went straight to the lead and strolled home to win a maiden over 1110m.

The filly was knocked down to 's biggest owner Linda Huddy for $650,000 at the 2018 Sales and has taken time to mature.

Tracy May is by the champion sire Redoute's Choice out of the Encosta De Lago broodmare Madam Tracy.

It makes Tracy May closely related to many top gallopers including the 2009-10 Australian , Typhoon Tracy.

Trainer said it had been important to get a metropolitan win for Tracy May, who did her early racing for in Sydney.

“Her entire page in the sales catalogue is black type so she is already a valuable broodmare,” he said.

“We will look for something a bit better now.”

Trainer also went past $200,000 in QTIS bonus earnings for his two-year-olds this season when Patty's Fortune ($18) won a two-year-old race over 1050m.

Ross has made a habit of winning QTIS money which is available for horse's bred in the state.

“QTIS is very good for trainers such as me and keeps many going,” Ross said.

Mistress of Doom ($4.80) made up for a debut defeat and lived up to an impressive trial when she came from last to win the other two-year- old division.

The filly had won a trial by 4-1/2 lengths before finishing fifth at the last month.

“We made the mistake at her first start of riding to suit the track conditions and not to suit the horse,” co-trainer said.
