Legend Of Condor To Run At Randwick

Talented filly will be held over for a week rather than run at either Randwick or .

Trainer Gerald Ryan entered the three-year-old for Saturday’s in Melbourne and a benchmark race in Sydney on the Kensington track, both over 1100 metres.

But he has decided she is more likely to run in the Group Two Stakes (1200m) at Randwick a week later.

“She won’t run this week,” Ryan said.

“She will either go to the Silver Shadow or the Toy Show Quality over 1100 metres the following week.

“Most likely it will be the Silver Shadow against the fillies but the three-year-olds are a very strong group this season.”

Villami was last seen when third in the Group Two Percy Sykes Stakes at Randwick in April won by .

The Ryan-trained Legend Of Condor will run in Saturday’s 1100m-benchmark 88 handicap trying to improve on his two wins from 13 starts.

“He hasn’t had a lot of luck with bad barriers and wet tracks.” Ryan said.

“He’s been gelded now and he’s going well.”

Legend Of Condor won a straight 1000m-race at in November but was unplaced in three autumn starts.

Ryan said he had no firm plans for Heart Of The Oak, an impressive winner at Newcastle on Saturday although she has been entered for the in October.

“We’ll find a race in town for her and see how she goes,” he said.

Her Newcastle win came at her second start, with the filly runner-up to Godolphin’s Pandemic at on debut.

Pandemic is entered for Saturday’s Randwick meeting which will be without star jockeys Hugh Bowman and Kerrin McEvoy.

With no stakes racing in Sydney, both are headed to Caulfield with rides for Godolphin trainer .

Among Bowman’s rides will be grand campaigner Hartnell in the Group Two .
