Jamie Kah has secured the mount aboard King’s Gambit, trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, as the talented colt aims for his inaugural elite-level triumph in the upcoming Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield next Saturday.
The three-year-old hasn’t graced the track since clinching victory in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) back in October.
“He has always been a top-class performer, so no different now,” remarked Paul Snowden to Racing.com.
“He just has to compete at the level that he always has.”
King’s Gambit is currently marked a +300 favourite with top horse racing bookies for the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate on February 24.
