Jockey has been fined on a misconduct charge following a social media post that suggested he would flout racing's whip rules.

Racing stewards on Thursday held an into a comment made by Mott on his Twitter account following the meeting on Wednesday.

In issuing a $1500 fine, stewards found Mott's comments were inflammatory and had the potential for serious consequences.

Riding runner-up Muswellbrook at Sandown on Wednesday, Mott protested against the winner Caffrey for alleged interference over the final 100m.

During the hearing it was established , rider of Caffrey, had used the whip on nine occasions before the 100m mark.

While the was dismissed, Bayliss was hit with a seven-meeting careless riding and a further $900 in whip-related fines.

Fellow jockey was also suspended on Wednesday for seven meetings for overuse of the whip.

The bans come after was suspended for six meetings and fined $1500 for the same offence on dead-heater at The Valley last Saturday.
