James McDonald has had to forgo his rides at the final Group 1 meeting of the season at Eagle Farm on Saturday due to illness.
McDonald was admitted to Randwick‘s Prince Of Wales Hospital on Wednesday night after withdrawing from riding at Warwick Farm‘s midweek meeting due to stomach pain.
Subsequent tests revealed he had gallstones. He was discharged on Thursday night.
McDonald had been scheduled for seven races at Eagle Farm, including the Chris Waller-trained C’est Magique in the Tattersall’s Tiara.
