Happy Owners Strike Again At Warrnambool

The three-day has again proved a happy hunting ground for a group of owners with ‘s stable.

For the fourth year in succession the owners of ‘s debut winner Ginny Ann, headed by committeeman Dallas Ludeman, have had success at the carnival with a two-year-old.

Ginny Ann took out Tuesday’s VOBIS Gold after the run started with Rata Tat Tat in 2016 followed by Hecta (2017) and Tee Train last year.

“These guys that own her have had an run,” Wilde said.

“They’ve won the two-year-old race with colts we’ve bought and we bought a filly last year, and this is her.

“They’re going to have a lot of fun.”

Ginny Ann is a half-sister to Hecta who died after winning two of his three starts.

Wilde said he thought Hecta was city class at the least.

“We went to the sales, found her and thought she was a better model than Hecta and paid $170,000 for her,” Wilde said.

“That’s the dearest horse I’ve bought.”

Ginny Ann was one of three runners for Wilde in Tuesday’s race with Havalilly (5th) and Piccadilly Street (6th).

“I expected the other two to show a bit of speed but this one has a touch of class about her,” Wilde said.

“From that draw (10), she settled back and was terrific late.”
