hellbentKURT Goldman will line up his promising three-year-old Hellbent in this Saturday's $250,000 Inglis Dash.

The Inglis Dash at Randwick is restricted for horses that came through an Inglis sale and Hellbent has shown enough in its four-start career to suggest it can win the big prize.

Hellbent won its first two starts before taking on tougher company in the Brian Crowley Stakes where it finished an unlucky third. It then ran at group level in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes where it finished eighth, but was considered a good run on a biased Flemington track.

“He had two weeks off here at the farm after the Coolmore but has still managed plenty of his fitness,” Goldman said.

“He's heavier and stronger than he was in Melbourne. He'd be 10kg heavier right now than he was six weeks ago and most of that is sheer strength.”

Goldman is expecting a better effort this Saturday in what looks a much easier target than it faced at Flemington on Derby Day.

“It will tell us a lot about where to go with him next campaign,” Goldman said.

“I've kept him for the 1100 metres on Saturday and ideally he'll come out and win well.

“He will then have a break and if he's good enough we will look at a couple of races leading into the Stradbroke Handicap or we can head towards the Inglis Guineas which carries of half-a-million dollars.”

Moreira catches fire ahead of Hong Kong International meeting

Champion jockey Joao Moreira recorded five winners at Sha Tin on Sunday, giving him the record for fastest to 50 wins in a season by a jockey in Hong Kong.

He was 50 wins from 229 races and Moreira puts that down to a lack of suspensions which hindered his previous season.

“Last season I had more suspensions, I've only had the one suspension this season,” Moreira said.

“I've also been given a lot of great opportunities and want to keep making the most of them.”

It's rare that Moreira scores a pick-up ride, but due to Zac Purton riding in Japan, the Brazilian master won aboard the Paul O'Sullivan-trained Who Else But You.

“He is a really nice horse and he has a really bright future here,” Moreira said.

“He is still very immature and he actually started sweating on the way to the gate. A horse that sweats like that on a day like today, when it is cool, they don't usually perform. I was just lucky Zac wasn't here.

“That horse would have won with anybody on board.”

Moreira will be hoping to keep that form in tact at Sunday's International meeting where four Group 1 races will be contested.

Australian racing is well represented by three runners, including Criterion in the Group 1 Hong Kong Cup. The multiple Group 1 winner is well liked in the market at $5.50 with CrownBet.com.au, sitting only behind Hong Kong champion Designs On Rome.

Last start winner is a $15 chance, but it looks outclassed at this level. is a $5.50 chance in the Hong Kong Vase and it looks well suited to Hong Kong racing.

Parr replaces Angland on Waller's veteran

has replaced Tye Angland aboard 10-year-old I'm Imposing in Saturday's $250,000 Group 2 Villiers Stakes at Randwick.

Angland will be riding at Doomben in the jockeys State of Origin on Saturday which has made room for Parr to ride the -trained veteran.

“I'm really looking forward to riding I'm Imposing on Saturday,” Parr said.

“He looks a really honest horse that puts in every time he goes around.

“Chris Waller dominates these Randwick miles so any opportunity to ride one for him is a good one.

“I'll be going into the race with a lot of confidence.”

Parr has ridden 15 metropolitan winners this season and Sportsbet.com.au currently have him as a $51 chance to win the NSW jockeys' premiership.

James McDonald won four races last Saturday and he looks the obvious choice at $1.35 with Blake Shinn ($5) and Hugh Bowman ($5.50) both chances of the upset.

Kiwi star ready to resume on Boxing day

New Zealand 2000 Guineas winner Xtravagant will return from a spell on Boxing Day just months after its emphatic 8.5-length win at Riccarton.

The son of Pentire will resume in a $50,000 race at Ellerslie before likely embarking on an Australian campaign further down the road.

“He'd going well,” co-trainer Stephen Autridge said.

“He'll have an gallop at Tauranga on Friday, and then he'll run in a 1400 metre three-year-old race at Ellerslie on Boxing Day.

“After that we'll go to the at Trentham and then aim at either Melbourne or Sydney.”

Stablemate and 1000 Guineas winner Risque will resume at a later date after giving the Autridge/Richards training combo the Guineas double in November.

“Risque is back in the stable this week after spending a fortnight out at ,” Autridge said.

“She won't run in the Eight Carat Classic at Ellerslie on Boxing Day, but she'll be set for some of the Filly of the Year Series races that come after it.

“The Desert Gold Stakes at Trentham is likely to be her first target.”

Xtravagant is the $3.50 favourite for the Levin Classic at Sportsbet.com.au and the $5.50 favourite for the Australian Guineas which Autridge said it will be targeted towards.
