A fall during a set of jump-outs has resulted in former apprentice being airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital in an induced coma.

Racing released a statement confirming the incident at Wangaratta in northeast Victoria on Wednesday.

“Stephen received immediate medical care from the on-course paramedic and was placed in an induced coma prior to transport,” the statement said.
