Chris Waller will wait for the results of veterinary tests this week before making a decision on the immediate future of The Everest winner Yes Yes Yes.
The colt missed a scheduled exhibition gallop at Randwick on Saturday after inflammation was discovered in his near foreleg.
Waller immediately notified stewards who ordered that betting be suspended on relevant autumn and spring carnival races in which Yes Yes Yes was highly positioned in markets.
He said he would have a better grasp on the injury next week and whether it would affect plans for the star three-year-old, who was slated for an international sprint campaign in Royal Ascot.
“We just noticed he had a little bit of heat in his leg this morning and we dare not takes risks with horses, full stop,'” Waller said.
“I just want to see where the heat is coming from. The vets will do their checks and work out what the story is and whether he misses a run or whether he has a delayed prep or whatever.
“I don’t know any more than that really.
“We will let everybody know early next week what is going on.”
Yes Yes Yes was a brilliant winner of The Everest in the spring and had been scheduled to resume in the Group One Lightning Stakes at Flemington in two weeks, alongside stablemate Nature Strip.
Waller worked four of his other carnival horses between races at Randwick including exciting import Shared Ambition, who edged out Youngstar in a 1000-metre hitout.
Shared Ambition created a big impression at his only Australian campaign when he was undefeated in three Melbourne spring carnival runs and is due to resume at Warwick Farm next Saturday.
