The is confident will at the worst have a soft surface despite being hammered by 325mm of rain in the past 10 days.

The meeting on Thursday was abandoned after 66mm of rain fell overnight flooding the already saturated course proper.

But Eagle Farm, which is across the road from Doomben, was rated a soft 5 on Thursday, two days out from its next meeting.

Racing tracks manager Mick Goodie, who oversees Eagle Farm, said even though rain was predicted for Friday the track would remain in the soft range and would probably get to good.

“It was what this track is designed to do – take a lot of rain. The only problem would be visibility with heavy rain on the race day,” Goodie said.

South east Queensland has already lost meetings at Doomben (twice), Beaudesert, (relocated to ) and the (twice).

A decision will be made on Friday's meeting on Thursday afternoon while the meeting on Saturday will be assessed on Friday afternoon.
