Queenslander Doubt Defying has won the Listed a few days before his half-brother 's bid for Group One glory in the Stud Stakes.

Trained by Steve O'Dea for , Doubt Defying lived up to his $3.60 favouritism in Sunday's Sale Cup (1600m) to beat Fastnet Tempest ($4) by three-quarters of a length.

“He's made really good improvement in these last couple of preparations this horse,” O'Dea told broadcaster racing.com.

“He put together a really good record last prep and to come back and win impressively at first-up and then come and win this today, I think he's definitely still on an upward spiral.”
