This afternoon's Group 1 meeting at Doomben has been postponed due to surface water in areas around the track.
With more than 18mm of rain recorded at Brisbane Airport between 12:00am and 9:00am AEST, the Brisbane Racing Club inspected the track at 9am, before making the decision at 9:30am.
The nine-race program was scheduled to host the Group 1 Doomben Cup (2000m) where Zaaki was a long odds-on favourite.
Other feature races included the Queensland Oaks lead-in race, Group 2 The Roses (2000m), as well as the Group 3 BRC Sprint (1350m) and Group 3 Pam O'Neill Stakes (1600m).
More details are set to come throughout the course of the day as to when and where the meeting will be conducted.
The decision was made early in the week to rule out racing at Eagle Farm, giving the newly reconstructed course a break before next weekend's Queensland Derby and Kingsford Smith Cup meeting.
