Angela Davies believes her mare Salina Dreaming can take her record to five wins from eight starts and put her hand up for a trip to the Magic Millions.

Salina Dreaming will be in action in the Ranvet Handicap (1100m) on the Randwick-Kensington track on Saturday.

Salina Dreaming stamped her credentials with a game first-up victory over 1100m at Randwick three weeks back and Davies is confident the lightly raced four-year-old is again well placed on Saturday.

“The mare has always shown ability but she’s come back more mature and , “Davies said.

“After she won at last campaign, I was quite confident she’d be up to Sydney Saturday class and it was terrific to see her get the job done first-up.”

“Hopefully if she runs well enough tomorrow she’ll then head to the $1 million Magic Millions Fillies and Mares race over 1300m in two weeks time.”

The Kensington track is expected to be rated Heavy but Davies has little concern about the daughter of Dream Ahead handling the conditions.

“He went super in the Villiers, we just didn’t need the track to be as hard as it was that day,”Davies said.

“It was a wonderful campaign. He’s a tough little customer who keeps taking the next step and we can now put into place a few races heading into the autumn.”

Davies’ resolution for the New Year is simple.

“To keep winning races and try and get to Sydney more often would be lovely.”
